Anytime, did you ever thought this way ‘should have been a developer,mmmmmm, I should become one’. Developer gets a good hefty pay, Considered as hero, Designer, Critical resource, has job security, good career growth and what not. Did you? Yes!, But :

Testing is Gold!

My Dear one’s, In spite of all those factors, Why did we choose to become a tester ? Why Not developer ?

It’s because Testing is passion, It’s striking gold which presents new and exciting Challenges everyday.

What Do You get ?

A tester Explore’s, Discovers new things, Investigates like a CBI or FBI, and Learning is always the trademark. Tester’s Love Testing and are absolutely good at it.

Tester the savior :

Developer’s create a beauty but, we (tester’s) ensure that the creation is safe to live with. For e.g, AIRBUS A330 was saved from collapse due to a rare software glitch found by the testing team. who is the savior ? yeah! you got it.

We are Judges :

Developer’s work to build a master piece and submit it to the testing team for judgement, they are tensed to know the results. Who is the judge though ?

Tester’s are not creative. Really ?

If we are not, How are we finding 100’s to 1000’s of ways to test the application ? How all possible scenarios that the end user would do are covered. We report Critical to Cosmetic defects and try every corner to make sure the application is of good quality. We are creative enough and We Rock !

Every Tom, Dick and Hary can Test :

Testing is not everyone’s cup of coffee. You need ‘out of box thinking’ to try and test in different ways. It requires good skill to find out what’s wrong, the analytical ability, handling difficult situations. In short, You need superstars.

Not Fast Enough :

Most often, The test execution do not go as planned due to development delays, Defects, Installation issues etc. But, we make sure that the timelines are not effected by working as fast as we can, working late, on weekends and most importantly, without compromising quality. We are Racing cars 🙂 .

Tester’s are No programmers :

Not acceptable. We are designing the scripts to automate the application, ensuring fast and reliable results to certify the product. We do possess good ability to design scripts in programming languages like Java, C# etc. Technology is fast growing and implementation of automation framework is a tough skill to master. We are New Gen Tespro’s. There is no word like this but, will be in dictionary soon.

Conclusion :

Testing industry is fast growing and independent of the technology. No matter how many tools come in the market, its always the hybrid approach: both human tester’s and Machine tester’s (automation tools) that is, and will be followed. Just ‘Fall in Love with Testing’ and you will get most out of it. whether the career growth, hefty pay, and definitely the ‘Hero’.
